Trinkets in Black & White: A Retirement Quilt

There’s something about a black, white, and gray quilt that feels both classic and modern. For this one, I started with the Trinkets pattern by Lella Boutique and made a few changes of my own, using fabrics from Lella Boutique’s Smoke & Rust collection.

This quilt was made as a retirement gift for a co-worker who retired on October 2. I wanted to make something special to mark the occasion, and I love the way this one came together. The limited color palette lets the blocks take center stage, while the mix of prints gives each one its own personality.

Another One Off the Queue

Making a quilt for someone else always gives the project a little extra meaning. This one was especially fun because I was able to take a pattern I liked, make it my own, and turn it into a gift celebrating a new chapter.

And now that it has been gifted, this black, white, and gray beauty is officially another one off The Quilty Queue.
