Augustina: A Bright & Playful Finish

Some quilts are just plain fun, and this one definitely falls into that category.

I made this quilt using the Augustina pattern by Villa Rosa Designs. I don’t remember the name of the fabric collection anymore, but I love the mix of bright red, orange, yellow and green with the darker gray prints. The simple, graphic layout of Augustina was a great way to showcase those larger-scale whimsical fabrics without cutting them into tiny pieces.

For the quilting, I used the Tiara pantograph from Totally Quilted / OESD and Glide thread in Yellow Whisper. The soft yellow thread blends beautifully across all of the different colors while still allowing the quilting texture to show.

This is one of those quilts that still makes me smile when I see it—bright, cheerful, and just a little bit quirky.

Another One Off the Queue

This was such an easy quilt to make, and I especially love knowing it was made to be given away. Interesting fabrics, a simple pattern, and lots of texture from the quilting made this one a fun finish.
